Evolution or westernization?

I think we mostly talk about westernization when we see an act that has an aspect of 'independence' driving it's consequences. Is this really westernization or is this evolution? Do we really ape the people from the western countries? If this is true, then where did it all start?

I think any act that a person does is largely driven by the intention to correct something that she thinks is wrong, or  by the intention to achieve something that she hasn't achieved yet. In either case, it's about the things that are missing in her life. But the important thing here is that she has realized those missing things. I think these realizations are the keys that drive evolution.

I struggle to understand how people from the western countries are 'X' years ahead of us in the process of evolution(I know that statement is a huge generalization, and might not be entirely true, but, a discussion is nothing but a series of generalizations, isn't it? :)) I don't mean to necessarily say that they are ahead of us in a positive way, because, i think, people don't necessarily evolve in to a state of utopia. If that was the case, then we would all have stagnated!

We see acts such as, love marriages, remarriages, live in relationships, Gay marriages, leaving your parents house after teen age. All of these acts have some essence of independence driving them. I don't know if they are the right acts, but i do think that they are consequences of the evolution in a man's individual thought process and  not because a man has aped one particular sect of people - westerners. I am no Historian, but if u look back, the number of wars that were waged in the early 1900's and killed millions of people is considerably more than the number of wars that were waged in the late 1900's. I know that i am saying this when we are in the brink of terrorist attacks, but i really think that the situation is in the process of improvement. I think and i wish that the situation would improve to a greater extent when someone in the later half of this century would look back at these early years of this century.

I personally think that the mankind always evolves into something better. And this evolved man now has the ability to evolve in to something even better, hence the evolution continues...
